It's so hard to say goodbye.

For the love of the game.

Senior Day.  The last game in High School. This is it.

The friends that were met.  The bonds the held it all together.

The gratitude from your team mates that deep down don't even know how much of this built their lives.

Because the common bond of baseball and the love of this game, will forever keep that glove, ball and uniform instilled in their souls.

The support from your Mama. From meals, to washing every stinkin garment covered in dirt and soot. Her praising ways, and gentle yet tough ears that listened to a pissed off son after a rough game.  The Mama that sat with other moms, game after game. In the heat and in the cold.  She was there.  She worried about your feelings, and she always worried about your body.  These days came to her faster than she really wanted.

A girlfriend that comes to game after game to support someone she is madly in love with.  Even when she wears funny cut off jeans.  He's the champ of champ's if you ask us.  Number twenty three, you are number one buddy, number one.
Your Dad. The man that pushed baseball through your blood.  Encouraging your days and nights to be filled with the game.  The Dad that stood at the fence behind home plate.  Watching every move. Deep in his heart, not wanting it to end.  The Dad that watched his little baseball boy turn into a man within months.  The Dad that would sit at games roasting in the sun, and would travel to different states with you to follow that ball.  All for you.  For the chapters of this life's book.
The friends that you grew up with, come and support.
Its a brotherhood.  It's something we would not ever fully get.  We can just admire from this side of the fence.

Brothers from other mothers.

Coaches that kicked your ass, but love you for the game.  And they love watching you grow.  The love you for you.

It was a long road. Emotionally, and physically.  I would bet to say, they would do it over and over and over again.

Cheers to Los Alamitos Baseball. Cheers to number twenty three.  Cheers to Eddie, Brandy and Apphia.

Cheers to sports, and camaraderie.

Get your kids involved in sports.  Stay involved, and soon you will see friendships blossom.  You will have a purpose of following hard work, love, and commitment.  Making some amazing friends along the journey. I promise.

“And above all, watch with glittering eyes the whole world around you because the greatest secrets are always hidden in the most unlikely places. Those who don’t believe in magic will never find it.”
Let's not say goodbye, how about...see ya later!

Happy Saturday- Go give or capture some love.

Peace,

Leese
ps.  On Thursday evening, the weather was exceptionally warm.  On the water.  It's a rare night to sit waterside and not wear a sweatshirt at dusk.  With that said, Bill and I snuck out on the boat for a little cocktail cruise.
The engine makes his noggin look as though he don's a mullet.  ha.
I sent this to the kids.

This was Kris' response.  Along with...."Beautiful night, huh mama"-

Yes, it was.
