A dose of sunshine.

It was time to get away.
You know those weekends you hear people speak of, to recharge?
Ya.  One of those.
Yes, there was work to be worked on.
But there was more to it.
Like time to exhale and just get away for something they call, a little bit of time.
For us.

And it looked like this.
And like this.

Some sunshine together.  Quiet solitude sitting shotgun to one another.
And it was lovely.  Because we sat with old friends.  And met new ones.
Those texting invites finally came to fruition.
Say hello to Jeff, Robin, Steve and Nicole!
Say hello to my little friend too.
They are given a bad name.  But beauty is written all over them.  Speaking for myself of course...
But then again....so are these dudes.
And so we cruised.
And took selfies.
Along with big foot sightings.
Meanwhile up stream, we see this dude doing exactly what the doctor ordered....
Wildlife refuge...yea buddy.
We got on it too.

Doing what we love.
Making the little moments count.
The temps were at an all time high of maybe ninety-
So into Topock we went.
The place where chocolate milk water is so famous.  yuck.

See?
Along with good drinks, and big smiles.
You can definitely see the change of seasons now.  The sun shines just a little bit different.
The water glistens with just a little more intensity.  But in a good way.
After all, it was less than ninety degrees.
The sunset gave me this view.
And these babes.  I can def say there is "The Sprinkler" dance goin on.  And...maybe the cabbage patch?
 And the shimmy.
Meanwhile, the lifeguard stayed on guard.

Before you know it, we rolled the lounge chairs back under shade.  The shades were pulled.  The house checklist checked.  Down the long forty. To here.  Time to sing along and dance to my favorite band of all time.  Anyone remember who?
So I jumped in the back seat, pulled my braids out.  Rolled em' into buns.  Put on my big gold earrings.  Slid on what I thought would work.  And boom.  We landed here.
The LA Fairgrounds.  Which to my dismay, is disgusting and icky.  sorry, not sorry.
Stand in long lines to stand in more long lines.  To walk another 3 miles to stand in lines.  To dodge strollers of babies that should have been home, many oh so many hours before.  Just one of those place.  But.....

But.....

I was able to let my tummy turn upside down watching people fly across the sky.  More yuck.  #afraidofheights  #notmything.

But....we did get to see KISS live.  ha.
Whew.  Finally, after one long weekend of too much silly fun.  We'd land here.  Jealous?  No?  Strollers, and people running into you?

After 5 hours in the car.  Long lines, trillions of people...tired eyes, and sober bodies.  (I know, rub your eyes and shake your head with me)
We landed here in this nest.     BAD COMPANY!

It was quite the night.  Sober.  Dancing, and singing to every single song.   I had chills, and a smile to light up the night.
I will miss this water.  It brought some good fast fun this weekend.
I feel like this today.  But what is this life if we can't step away from the plate for just a moment.

Together.

Alive.

Healthy.

And able.

Right?

Right.

Happy Monday Worker Bee's.

Go get em.

Remember, you were born to be real.  Not perfect.  (Read that on our school website this morning) Talk about eye opening for bullying.  Love, love it.

ps.  Miss. Kali was named Student of the Month!  What a nice kick ass way to start off her and our week.
