Vegas Valentines...Fatal Clothing Celebrations...

This year Magic Clothing Expo planned their show on Valentine's Weekend. So....I went along...As a tag-a-long sweetpea.... Kris and Kali dropped us off at the airport....
As we fly over Newport and Huntington.....

Thought the little straw in my cocktail on the way out was cute...fit for the occasion....

So as the story goes...I plan on working out each day. As this vacation was a time for me to get away. The week prior I had the end of soccer season stuff to finish, parties to plan, paperwork to finish..and just all the fast things that I did in 4 days. My plan was to get a manicure, pedicure...new outfits...all the things anyone wants before they leave on vacation...well mine was really just slammed together..but I did it..So...my mornings started here. At the gym. And it was beautiful. The weather was perfect.

My favorite place in the hotel. Seriously I am not the Vegas girl. Only because I CANNOT stand cigarette smoke, and cheezy slot machines dingin in the backround...and just the slimy feeling I get there. Sorry. But that's just my opinion. I would rather spend my hard earned money on clothes. I guess I am a true beachgirl at heart. The only clean place I felt I could escape to, was the gym area. awww I could breath. Even outside, I was pedeled by guys and girls trying to hand me stripper cards with numbers for a later hookup. eew. sigh

I passed this sign each morning going to the gym. And I smiled. What children? lol!

Has always been my motto. Super cute tanktops in the gym area.

The sights of Las Vegas. Beautiful day though.

My favorite candy. Jelly Belly's. One big statue. Cute-

And yes...I found Ross on the strip. And they had THE CUTEST bags in there. The sad part? Bill and I flew and I had 6 bags when I left. Funny he said, "hun, why so many bags..?" So... I didn't want to buy my 7th or 8th...I admired, held them and put them back. I did get one cute little red one for Valentines Dinner. And a cute shirt.

Inside MGM. Where the cutest tigers are housed. Chinese New Year-

He's still alive-

I did manage to get through the Tiffany and Louis Vutton store. I do have some favorites in there... Maybe some day. For now..I love Ross, Marshalls, TJ Maxx.

Ok...so here's how the story rolls out. Me and Linda (one of Bill's employee's-girlfriend) whom I just met this weekend...super cool girl. Super fun. Walked the streets with me...we shopped and walked and talked and laughed. About an hour into it, we see these super big margaritas passing us by...So we find them. We than make our way back to our hotel where there is a "Dick's" Restaurant. If you've never been, GO. They are beyond vulgar. But all in good fun. Super funny. Well.....the problem to the story was we walk in before it gets crowded and the servers at the bar decide to be fun and pick on us. Meaning, shots, and drinks. We had 3 hours to kill before Bill and Brian show up. The night got way silly. We danced, and had a blast. Sorry no pictures to post. It was one of those nights. Mama tied one on. Next morning Bill lectured me that he had to work. I said, Sorry. lol-I actually didn't drag him in there. HAHAAA-

Carmen and Randy joined us this weekend. They put these bags on your head...while you eat.

Kids cover your ears. That means you Kali....lol!
Bill's hat read : Only my balls are more wrinkled than this hat- blahhh haaaaaaaa-

Randy and Carmen- I love how the DANCE sign is above their head. Cute little things that just land in the background. cute.

Poolside as we sat out waiting for the guys to get done with show...a guy comes by and offers "Free chocolate covered strawberries"- Yum and super cool.

Our Valentines Dinner at Mortons. It was the perfect night...perfect food, and good friends.

The most expensive baked potatoe I've ever consumed. Ever.

My favorite Asparagus. Beyond yummy. Again, the most expensive Asparagus I've ever ever ate. lol!

For those that know me, I'm silly. I have a silly side. And little things can just crack me up. Everytime you get up to do anything, that server appears out of no where like a napkin fairy and folds it right up. We started testing her. My entertainment for the night. Forget the big-wig shows. That serves me well.

Our dinner shot. Why does it look like my head is falling off...? haha.

Heading by after dinner, back by Dicks. I opted to pass on the Stiff Drinks. But I liked the sign.

Look what cupid gave me. I love you Bill. I wasn't even expecting anything...and just like that...he's soo cute. He pops out with this gold box. Super sweet. I love it.

On to the show... There are some very cool clothing lines, along with the Steve Madden, and Lucky Jeans...you name it; it was there. And amazing people watching place.
The day I arrived at the show, this was white. By day 3....here's her work. Beautiful.

More awesome paintings....I notice I have this attraction to birds in paintings...This caught my eye. Total Street painting but sooo cool..

Ok....I've always said...Money sometimes makes people wierd. So this sign caught my eye. I love it. There was several rich wierdo's walking around. Skin and face pulled tight, super plump lips.....and the labels melting off their bodies. I guess if you're happy..

Me pointing it out.

I actually found some amazing new lines of clothing and accessories. Watches to be exact. I'm on the hunt to find them here. Fatal Booth here....going up. Take note to the picture. My feet up on a chair watching them work. Sorry. Bill kept saying, "Lisa's not here to do anything" She's on vacation. hahaha.. That's not me, but I did play that card all week and weekend...

The love of my life..working hard.

Finished product. Look at the hand in the left. Like we are superstars. They are asking for my autograph! haha
Bill did an awesome job with this new booth! You amaze me.
I felt like such a dork. Almost every girl walking around was half dressed, totally hot. I was about comfort...I was about doing what I wanted... and trying to look HOT at night...poor Bill. lol-

Great location. We were next to Steve Madden shoes. YUMMY!

Carey Hart and me again! Remember in my blog from last year at Tilly's event? Well here he is again. The coolest guy. He's married to Pink the singer. He owns Hart and Huntington. They had an awesome booth. Holly Madison was hanging at his booth.

Love this too. To all you survivors out there. And this quote means alot. Think about it.

Wish I could of bought this picture. It was in a booth. Bob Marley's booth..

One of my favorite musicians. Bob and Ziggy Marley - And THEE best booth at Magic.

And just like that it was done...I flew out to come home and see my two stars in the sky. I missed them more than they'll ever know. After the scariest flight home through a storm, I loved walking into my house, where my kitties greeted me, and a nice long bath, my candles and the comfort of knowing I WAS HOME. Good times, new friends and memories to last forever....

CHEERS TO FATAL.....YOU ARE BIG TIME ROCKIN WITH AWESOME SAUCE!

Little Heros...

Throughout this week, of a complete busy schedule. Kali and I leaving the house at 7:15 and returning at 7:30 each night...soccer parties, pasta parties, Mom planning things for soccer, you all know the drill...She had homework, and studies..and lots of it. One of her projects was "who inspires you the most "A hero that isn't the typical..(Presidents...etc)"- She had to ask of 3 from each family member. She needed details on "why"- I felt like I was answering her ever soo shortly, tired, giving her my names as I loaded yet another load of laundry I hoped I would see through the complete cycle of wash, dry and fold.(yea right) - My choices were- Mother Teresa, Maya Angelou, and Anne Frank. I woke early this morning to overlook her work, and print what she needed, along with add anything else for the cause (pictures). The sweetest part of the story, as I read her heros? Me. Ahhh the rewards of motherhood. The sad news? I'm boarding a plane to Vegas in a couple of hours...she's home with bro. Wonder if he'll be her hero by next week?- lol. Sigh...

2010-2011 UNDEFEATED Season...And just like that...it's a wrap!

We had our last game of the season yesterday. We won 4-0. Amazes me how fast it really is. The girls had so much fun training together, working together and learning fun things from eachother. It was my pleasure to represent them and help guide them through their first HS season. Thank you to all the families that opened their homes to Pasta Party craziness. Opening up great bottles of wine for us. Taking pictures. Having games for them to play. Loving each girl as they arrived to eat. Thank you to the parents that gave me the nice notes of appreciation and kind words that will stay with me forever. (Kali is on the left..second girl in.-Thank you Kyoko for capturing this amazing shot. Probably one of my fav's in all of my folders)

I put together this framed picture for Coach. I had all the girls sign it at the last pasta party- It was really sweet to see what each girl wrote.

Last pasta party. Hungry girls...great food Liz!

Chow time!

Simply BEAUTIFUL!

I headed over to Taco Surf to decorate the tables for our girls. We were to arrive just after the last game. I was done and headed over to the field to snap some pictures of the girls. Last warm up. Beautiful sunny skies. Ohh how I love the sunshine and warm winds. The perfect soccer watching weather...

After the game ended our girls ran together with JV girls for celebrations of awesomeness! Those girls ROCKED this season! Good job Lady Griffins!

And just like that....it's done.

At dinner the girls presented Coach Katie with her framed picture and notes. She loved it. The girls wrote the cutest notes to her. I also wrote each girl a note. A note reflecting on the season on just how happy I am. How proud and amazed of their sportsmanship and friendships they share. And Kali's red cleats... That's how I spot her. lol!

Yummy dinner time. Good food, Good brews for the parents. Lots of laughter and love in that room. And the bad news?- We are missing one special girl in the group here. Our good friend Sara B. got knocked down hard right at half-time and broke her arm soo bad, went to ER, into Surgery just this morning after being in hospital all night waiting. On morphine and still miserably painful. We've been so blessed with un-injured girls, healthy games. To end our season on this sad note. Friends of ours, and I wish them the best. Positive thoughts and fast healing to her. I can only imagine the grueling nights and days to come. Our team will be there to support her once she's home. We've already made notes.

And just like that, this season is a "Wrap"- I often tell Kali to enjoy these years...because just like that it's over. And when I say that...I mean the years in High School that we take for granted while in. Looking back, they were the best years of my life.
YOU ROCK LADY GRIFFINS! Now I'm off to pack for Valentines in Vegas! Stay tuned for silly pictures...

Love is in the air......

I came across this awesome picture, just in time for Valentines Day...Reminder to the lovers that need to go pick out a little sweet something for your love. Big, small, inexpensive or not..something with thought will always melt the soul of another....It doesn't have to be for a boyfriend of girlfriend...sometimes a family member...mother, daughter, son or friend.. I came home to this on Friday from my cupid. It says "To the love of my life"- He always knows how to melt my heart.
I love Audrey Hepburn...I love her quotes. If we can just try to live by a few of these little reminders...It's not always easy...hormones-stress-motherhood-fatherhood..sigh. But on those days that you feel like everything is caving in...these little helpful reminders might pull you through.

SO Proud.....

This is very blurry...I know. But the sweetness of this Fortune Cookie note...is that it said "You find beauty in ordinary things"- And that is certainly me. I opened this up on the soccer field this week, and reflected in so many ways just how lucky I am. How lucky we all are. Remember to find beauty in the ordinary things in life... I dedicate this picture to Kris. Kris has worked very hard these last few years with us at the shop. Day in and day out..he's there. He takes very good care of every single customer he has. He's patient, and he's kind. He has started back to school. He's taking Business Law Classes along with Photoshop Software design. I can't express enough to him how happy I am for him and about him. Awesome job Kris. He'll take classes and work. He's still saving...but the feeling of being in school everyday is a boost for the soul. He's my superstar...

I love him so much.

The stories we've built together..... The bond of this mom and son is unbreakable. Forever.

My other sunshine. And her friends...The season is coming to an end next week. I am starting to feel a little sad about it. They are an amazing team. And have made amazing friends in the process. Just to see the smiles..and what made them get here...Just to know the stories behind those smiles..And to hold on forever to these beyond sweet memories....On to the next chapter ladies.....

Kali almost 15....And yes, I'm holding on for dear life.....

We rocked it this season! UNDEFEATED!!!!!!!!!

Purses, Pretty Lipsticks..Pasta and more Lady Griffin WINS!

After a fun long weekend...our Monday got kicked off with a GiGi Hill purse party and Lipsense party at Kyoko's. Good friends, yummy snacks and good wine... I treated myself to a few.....Valentines Day...Thank you honey.
Lipsense. This lipstick goes on...stays on...and offered in very bright and pretty colors. It's time for me to wear colors outside my comfort zone...color baby!

Our Tuesday rolled out in Newport Harbor for what is coming to be very close to the end of our season. And we spanked them 6-0- Beautiful school Newport. Thank you for hosting-

Girls listening to coach. I often look at these pictures..especially of my Kali...and just wonder what it'll be like when she's a mom some day looking back on these memories...She still has sweet little cheeks to me...aww.

Coach called me in a little panic the morning of the game asking if I could arrive a little early at Newport High to supervise and wait. Well "of course" I told her. Bill and I grabbed lunch and headed over to the field to enjoy the sunshine and wait for our bus load of Griffins. (Yes we did leave work behind...yes it will be there the next day) It's those everyday little simple things, that I grasp. Knowing these days are limited...knowing these days are numbered. Knowing that being together on that field can never be replaced by anything bigger.

Pasta Party at The Mcleod's this week on Wednesday...A very full week had by all. But would never replace these bonding moments. The girls have a blast.

Desert time... This time I brought Polly's Pies. Usually I bring Chocolate Cake, or the parent supplies brownies...(The girls love chocolate..well...who doesn't?) But this time, I was in a hurry running late from work, and grabbed Polly's...An assortment of a few. The girls loved it.
