Easter Egg Hunt- Spring Break 2010

Although Easter was the weekend before, we decided this was fun to do on a windy day. The wind blew on Tues and Wed, so I made good meals, yummy snacks, we went to the mall, movies...and the girls just chilled. Of course I cleaned and organized, decorated more...cleaned....decorated more...cleaned. Kali didn't get to dye eggs this year...soccer, school stuff, parties...it came and went, but we managed to do it anyway-just a few days later...and at the lake. Right smack in the middle of the floor on towels.
The best. Ava and her egg. She had some great ideas for tie-dye. They changed the patterns. We used vegetable oil.

I really love this picture of Tori. It's the sweet times I'm holding tight to.

My sweet pea.

I know this might seem strange, but I haven't hid eggs in a long long time. I don't know why...but I just haven't. We do a big family picnic every year, and others do the deed. So hiding them for the girls out front was really fun (plus I had a glass of wine in hand)- and watching them crack up to find them was even better. Because I wasn't messing around... I HID them. hahaha

Our cozy nights at home

This is a funny joke, because I always take pictures of kisses. I love them. This was Bill's idea. I wonder if it's genuine or to be silly? I'll tell my heart it's genuine- Also his idea.
Kali's idea. Actually this is how our skin felt everynight after we'd get out. We were so dried out. We went in every night after dinner. Between the dry air, the salt water jacuzzi, we were like dried fruit. haha.

The water in the pool is not heated. And it's extremely cold- She jumped back and forth.

Teenage years..........hold on for dear life....

Chillin in the Channel

Funny story behind this picture....The guy to the right must be a new boater. He tied the boat to a tree, didn't beach it...and left it to glide back and forth next to our tie up spot. And once you have a spot and mark it, you really can't move. So, in case the wind crept up, which is VERY common this time of year, we put bumpers at the back, and crossed our fingers, we wouldn't come back to a nice ding. So I snapped a shot "just for the record" in case something happened.
Ava was doing some funny dance that is popular right now, and her dad was in the boat with this smirk, not all that happy about it, but we were cracking up because when she is silly, she is silly. We love it. Sweet girl.

Our favorite thing.....Boating.

Tori, almost 15- Kali almost 14 and Ava 11

Spring Break 2010

Kali sporting the new hats....I actually like these. Cute
Kali and Tori being Paparrazi in our room looking out. This was our last day of vacation-

I love this picture. These two girls are 6 months apart. Cousins but more like sisters- Hope they will keep eachother close for the rest of their lives.

Easter Earthquake and family time- Gaylord Home

Regina paddling around the harbor...this is before the earthquake. Let me say, I was sitting with my feet in the jacuzzi, noticed everything swaying around me....I can hear the neighbors yelling "earthquake" and I was so frightened I couldn't move. Kali ? Upstairs changing from bathing suit to clothes, and super scared too. The boat's were being pulled, it looked like they were in the ocean vs. being tied at the dock. The sound was beyond erie. If you know me...you know I freak out about earthquakes...this was my first in the harbor. Me no likey. Little Rocky paddling....
Dylan, Reese, Riki, and Kali....keeping warm on Easter Sunday....4-4-2010

Miss. Kali and Miss. Regina....are they trying to keep their hair dry?

Finished sand work- Sunset Beach 4-4-2010

Easter Morning 2010 April 4, 2010

We started our morning off with a little workout on the beach...Kali and I ran, and Bill did his usual work out stuff. According to the weather service..what was supposed to be a gloomy Easter Sunday morning turned out (for us) to be a very nice peaceful quiet morning on the beach. Just the way we like it...Her beautiful artwork....
My artwork and foot steps....

Checking everything out.....

Before she knew the Easter bunny came....boy do I remember those sweet days of baskets full of new candy and little toys...now it's bathing suits, hair accessories, nail polish....and a couple pieces of "good chocolate"- And Kris? He's in Arizona hanging with friends....

Soccer...Soccer....and Traveling to far away places....

Our team bumped up a bracket this Spring, creating farther travels... Last weekend it was Orange, Claremont..Irvine...Today was Temescal Canyon. Tomorrow back to Irvine. Although at the beginning of the scheduling, Kali mentioned she likes to travel to new fields..different places, different landscapes..etc. Today we sat in serious traffic, got a little lost...hmmm I wonder if she still feels the same. The Bass family in front of us with 4 of our players..trying to find this field. This made Kali feel much better because we were all very late. She DOES NOT like to be late ANY where. Especially a game.
Happy Birthday Coach Moo and Miss. Sara! What a beautiful day to enjoy those yummy treats from The Bass'-
I heard through the grapevine....he's 30 today! Cheers to many many more....

They both celebrate this day....and a celebration of winning this game! Thank you Alexa for the goal!

Kali's 8th Grade dance March 25, 2010

I volunteer to help with certain events, for one, to help, for the other to check everything out...and try to capture memories that she will one day want to look back on. I had strict orders, to stay out of the dance area. Which I did. I served cookies and drinks. However, quite a few mom's peeked their heads in to "take pictures"- I grabbed the opportunity too! I will ALWAYS remember my 8th grade dance. Slow dancing to Journey. And feeling that nervous feeling waiting to see if I would even have that chance. This picture...is the calm before the storm... The mom's getting prepared. My sister in the polka dot dress on left. So nice to stand with her, capturing memories of our girls together.
So.....my conservative Kali....was dancing with a guy...which rolled into a bump and grind...down to the floor, and they got caught by Mr. Platt and put against the wall for a "time-out"- Ok, I found it funny considering Kali, whom lectures her friends to be respectful of one's self. Shame on you Miss. Kali. Dad, if you're reading this, I'm sure these dances aren't like the ones you and Mom went to.

Drop it...drop it...low girl... The DJ played great music, lights, disco ball and the works.

WHERE'S KALI? I never did see her in there...I would snap and walk away. Cute to see this mom in there chapperone'n. Imagine what she's thinking.. Better yet, what her kid is thinking. hahaha.

Awwww a weekend alone....

Bill and I love to get away when we can, alone, to unwind from the daily duties of work, (for him..lots and lots of work...) and soccer and cab driving for me...and the typical daily stuff....I yearn to getaway, but the house almost seems too quiet when the kids aren't there (ask Bill you'd probably get a different answer.-hehe). Yes, it's nice to enjoy a schedule free weekend, a lazy lounge by the pool with magazines, but the house is happier with kids, friends and family.... This is mine and Bill's favorite spot for a Margarita and the sunset, or coffee and a warm blankie. Within the next 3 months, you won't see this fire, but you will see the pool and the table in the pool with the umbrella. We seen our snow bird's off (people that rented the guest room for a couple of months) After understanding that concept better, I really enjoyed my weekend. Really sweet and peaceful.

Sunsets...one of our favorite things...

This is one of the last shots I took....We have been buying so many pictures for the house; we decided now is the time to get our shots, that we love, and where we love.... I wouldn't frame this, but it was really funny how these ducks are so hungry in the channel. Two months from now, they'll be over fed, and won't care to come near you....but they actually raided our chips, climbed on the boat, and called many more friends over to enjoy. This dude actually bit Bill's toe while he sat there too...
Bill and I have always enjoyed this one cove where we could cruise into, out of the wind, away from the crazy partiers, and just chill. Years ago we came across Donkeys, so we call it Donkey cove. As we were laying in the sun, we look over....and there was just one.

Cocktails and Cheeseburgers...We stayed in, bbq'd burgers with some friends, and had a peaceful night in jacuzzi. Then the wind picked up.......

Hardwork and determination....

Working, working, working....
The calm before the summer storm....

Kali and the Sand Castles...Seal Beach...

Kali would test Bill to the limit at places of this sort...we'd walk by an exhibit and she'd touch the sand with the tip of her finger....meanwhile he was trying to control the situation and teach her NOT to touch...and on this day...I remember the struggle, we'd walk by...she'd touch, he'd say something...she'd wait for him to look away...she'd touch....he look back...ugh..hahahaha. Just remembering makes me laugh so hard....I showed him the picture and he laughed remembering the test she put him through.. He was probably wondering what the heck did he get himself into. Now she has him wrapped around her soul. She was 4 and trying to test him...Funny.

Where'd the time go?

Kris and Kali would sit on the dock and catch...."sharks.." and all kinds of crazy fish. I found these pictures today...and it seems like yesterday...Really. Kris is 11 here. Kali 4
