Lifeguarding at the Amundson's Home

Mrs. Amunson was Kali's math teacher at McAuliffe Middle School. She knew that Kali was trainied as a JG so she asked if Kali would be willing to work her daughters 1st Birthday party. Great idea considering pools, little ones, and celebrations sometimes get too busy. That extra set of eyes could be priceless. Happy 1st Birthday Addison! And a little honor for Kali to be chosen to help with their special day.

Forever Young...Happy 21st Kristopher

Yes, I was a very young girl at the age of 19 when I brought this boy to the world. It was scary, it was sweet, it was worth every minute. Simply because when you have children they become your friends, your little partners, your confidants, your support at times when needed. Sometimes it's a simple compliment, or a little hug. It wasn't always easy...I remember the night I brought him home, I was so scared. He was this little being that needed me. He would cry I would cringe. This boy would change my life forever. But to this very day... I have stood tall for him. Keep up your hardwork bub, "salt to the earth". And stay "Forever Young". First day of Mommy-me Swimming lessons. Look at those little chubby cheeks. Look at my shoulder pads. haha.
The day he got his drivers license...... Look at that hair! OMG do I remember that day like yesterday.....

Kris at Kali's age. 14 years...He rode at this track almost daily.

Lets go back....

Every year during July and August, I start to wimp out when it's too hot at the lake. We've had the nicest weather in SoCal, and actually mild temperatures in Havasu...Kali is on a little break from soccer aside from practice. It's always a "should we go"- Today I say yes! I am working on a picture project and came across these...and I say yes~ Enjoying our pool...we actually stay in the pool well into the night...fun fun fun!

Summer fun 2010

We floated, sea doo'd and chilled in our little spot.....Here's me being the waitress.... Silly girls...so much fun!
There is the "Flag". I'm simply a freak when it comes to tubing and boating with the kids. If there are too many boats I won't let Kali be towed. Just too scary these days with people that drink and boat...and don't pay attention. And when Bill is in charge of the flag...he's so relaxed about it. Everytime the kids would fall, I'd jump up and yell "Flag" - haha. It actually became the joke...

Celebrate good times

Ava, Kali and Regina....Steamboat Cove Lake Havasu Arizona.... The brave......
The BOMBA......

Silly Billy.......in mama's hat!

Sir Fatal...

Find your happy place....

Kali and Regina...They are cousins...they have a blast together. They're 2 months apart. And both play competitive soccer. So cute.......
We day camped and took the sea doo's out for the day...I packed a really yummy lunch, Bill made his famous margaritas in a big container..the girls rode sea doo's, snorkled for little fish, and we just floated and chilled here all day....For being 115 out, it simply was tolerable here-

Find your happy place.....

Cute when Kali gets the camera and will catch us...unexpected, peaceful and together. I love it.

This is where you stay when it's 115 outside

We love this little cove...full of birds, no other boats...safe for tubing and floating around. Regina, Lisa and Kali before sunset...

The girls getting silly!

Kali dropping the anchor for the Sea Doo's "The BOMBAS" as we call them-

Our Steamboat cove day. This rock isn't as big as it looks...

Los Alamitos High School Soccer "She did it"

We waited last minute to take this lil getaway to Havasu...one, because of high school soccer try-outs and scrimmages and the other, it was just way to hot there.. But we finally decided on Wednesday that we'd go...and leave the next morning..6:30am to be exact. Well, I wake up early to do banking..and of course checking the Los Al Athletics website daily to see if she'd made the team. The morning of...she's sound asleep, the house completely quiet...I login, and it say's "the teams have been posted"- For anyone out there, that has had a child go through this wait...the journey of trying out for a high school team...you'd know. You'd know the feeling. I could barely figure out what button to push next....so as I scroll down, it's in alphabetical order...and Kailyn Stahl WAS THE LAST GIRL on the list. I sat there stunned, then cried...then smiled..then laughed out loud in my quiet little house.... SHE MADE IT! What I did was told Bill we weren't going to tell her until on the road...and I had a little plan. We as a family tradition stop in Barstow at the very same Del Taco...we get the very same food, and almost everytime sit at the same little booth.. while she and our neice Regina were in the bathroom, I quickly ordered and asked the guy who took the order to give me the paper that goes under your food on those trays...and above is what I wrote. When the food came...we grabbed our food and I said "Kali what does that say..." as she looked down...she was super stoked! Super excited and of course...you know mama....cried!
The very sad news was viewing the list and seeing that your besties from your team didn't make the team. Talk about hard. And those moms are very close friends of mine. So as the news spread throughout the day...it was very bittersweet. We laid low, took the congrats, offered words of encouragment to our friends...and celebrated Kali's little victory with good times on the water....and oh so beautiful sunsets.... Congrats Miss. Kali! Los Al here she comes!

Happy Birthday Andrea Big 30!

We celebrated for my cousin Andrea whom turned 30...I accidentally deleted the only picture I have of her. But here is my Aunt Susie on left, my sister Tina, myself and Annette. Brunch was at Taps in Brea. Super delish! Great seafood and yummy brunch!

Because she can.....Kayaking with friends....

We are normally in Havasu alot this time of year...but checking the weather...while experiencing 120 degree weather there...we decided it was better to stay at the beach and enjoy the water here. Kali asked on Thursday if she could invite her friends over to kayak. She also asked us if we'd bbq for her/them. Of course we were thrilled to host a beautiful saturday afternoon on the dock...margaritas for us, and a nice bbq for them. What a great day it was....

Good friends good times....Summer 2010

This day turned out to be so much fun...perfect weather...sweet girls. A great bbq hosted by mom and dad...with lots of yummy treats too! Kali cruising around in the little boat. They went bridge jumping. I remember when she was little, she always talked about taking the boat by herself...the time is finally here..
Back from their kayaking fun...

Kayaking fun with Kali and friends.....

When they got back...Kali dropped her glasses in the water under the boat lift...Mikayla finally went down and got them...Kali actually cut her foot very badly on the lift...while being silly..which landed us in the Urgent Care monday...Better to be safe than sorry. It was so deep and so yucky we had to get it checked out.

Summertime Fun Long Beach Pike area July 2010

We went to the old Pike area in Long Beach a couple of weekends ago...for dinner at Yard House and to visit with some friends from Havasu. Good times. We haven't been to that Yard House in years.. Kali was tired of me taking pictures, so she kept hiding her face, and showing it, and I caught it! YES!
Kali and Dad....

Kali and Tori

Mama. Yard House Long Beach. The weather was funny...the sun would come out, become warm, then the clouds would roll over and it would get cold....either way when you're at the Yard House, good food, good music, it really didn't matter-

The sweet little things in life....Happy Birthday America!

While peddling our bikes back from the parade in Downtown HB, we pass this house where a guy has a cotton candy machine and is serving anyone free cotton candy. It's the little sweet things that people do that mean so much to me. To see the kids line up to get some was priceless. And if you know Kali...she loves candy. Downtown Huntington Beach 4th Of July Parade. It's actually the biggest parade this side of the Mississippi.
While at the parade and it's surroundings, you had a great feeling of being American. The Cotton Candy Machine Man

Our fun bike ride. 4th Of July morning 2010-

The tallest kid in line...Miss. Kali

4th of July Weekend Part 2

We kayaked, boated around in our little "Harbor Patron" as we call her...and the weather was absolutely perfect! Kali and Tori roped up to the boat... "cheatin"! My sister Tina and Bucks
