Last night...after a very long week...and a free day from school for Kali today...Bill and I made plans for a date night....just the two of us...tucked away at our favorite little spot in Sunset Beach. Kali made plans with the girls for a sleepover at Mac's to start the celebrations of Kelly's 15th birthday....
The owners know us...they prepare our exact same dish, every single time. Split onto two plates without even asking- "Chicken Rustica"...my favorite Caesar Salad...with a super cold plate...covered with Parmesan cheese...and tomatoes...our bread for dipping with Olive Oil and Vinaigrette....everything, every-time...is just so perfect. Last night..was no different. Thank you Sunset Pasta...Thank you Ozzie...thank you sweet little server who always keeps my glass of wine perfectly filled, and my water glass filled perfect too! It feels so nice to walk into a quaint place by the ocean, only to be greeted even in the fullest of capacity at times..with a smile...and "So good to see you guys" welcome. For anyone looking for an awesome little Italiano', homemade, amazing small warm quaint place to have dinner...? Nothing fancy....just good food and good wine. Take your own bottle...they'll open too! Super sweet people. Sunset Pizza & Pasta on PCH in Sunset Beach. The friends I've taken..always make their way back.....
So...the funny part our date nights...and days there...is.............Mother's Bar is right next door. So when we skip over on our bikes...or little boat...we will stop in this biker bar for a brew and some peanuts...good music and shells all over the floor. Music so loud at times, you musn't speak. Just a good place to people watch, eat peanuts, toss to the floor and smile at eachother....suits me just fine....especially after this week.
Candles lit on every little table...a band that played "Son's of Mother's"....Good ol' Rock n Roll...and you know me...I love live music. I love Rock n' Roll....and I especially love sitting with my bestfriend. Smiling as we enjoyed our Tecate's.....on a cool almost winter night....Tonight as I blog, Kali is at Kelly's dinner celebration. We must get up tomorrow morning at 5am. Departing for our Soccer mission in San Juan Capistrano.....those rain dance shoes haven't kicked in yet. Praying for safe travels....good wins. Another Kali goal...and safety on the field. GO BEACH!
