Every year we "get away" to this show in Havasu. This year it celebrated it's 33rd year. People come from all over the country to show their pre-60's car. Beautiful cars, cool people..and fun times. Kali has games all weekend this time of year...she won't miss. And Kris offered to stay and help get her there. So we snuck away....and had a fun party at our place Friday night. I have these little bricks on our porch and it states a very true statement-

Lowered trucks...oil lines...and street sweepers..
So this is how low Sean's truck is...barely able to creep over the gate rail.....but there's more to the story.... On Friday as our party is beginning...Sean and Jaymee pull in....and I see him dart in the house...grab Bill and something out of the garage....As I go outside, I hear his oil thingy hit the rail on the gate, and oil leaked a line all the way up and to our house. Meanwhile leaving this big drop of oil deposit. Every friday these guys come through our track of homes and sweep and clean. They so happened to drive by as Sean is standing there trying to figure out how to clean up....THIS WAS PRICELESS.... I invited them in for dinner after. The most polite boys as well. Great timing....and super duper funny!
Let the good times roll.....Run to the Sun 2010
"Run to the Sun" hosted at our house-
This year we hosted the party at our house. Fun times. I had it catered by a restaurant called Casa Fernandez. Absolutely perfect service. Great food, and it all worked out just perfect! Our house was full of friends, great wine, and margaritas...celebrating " Awesome to see these beautiful classic cars lined up in our driveway. So bummed I waited til dark to take a pic. A little busy in the house hosting!

Taste of Los Al- October 16th 2010
It's truly a sad shame that I didn't take more fun pictures this night.. maybe I was too busy holding my glass of wine, and tasting all the good eats...And this picture? The one and only taken by a friend who felt very good at the time...thank you vino! This is my sugarplum with Randy and Carmen. We had a great night. Ran into so many friends, some old some very new...plus everyone had their happy wine faces on! haha. Kali signed up to work for community service hours at the Taste. On friday she worked the 2-4 shift. Kali and a few of "The 7". They painted signs. Lots of giggles, and lots of black paint on Kali's clothes. Of course! From left to right...Mackenzie, Phoebe, Kelli and Kali...we celebrated their hardwork after at Jamba juice- haha.
Maybe not Banana Pancakes...but good wine, and Jack Johnson..
Kali and I went to our first concert this month...Jack Johnson is my top fav. We took our friends Maria and Kaitlyn. The venue was at the Hollywood Bowl. Not one of my favorite places in the world (Hollywood). Too busy and maybe too dirty or crowded for me...but we dined at a great restaurant, called Arusso Pizzeria. It was a quaint small, but very well established Italian restaurant. The food was amazing to say the least...the wine was super. But most of all the experience in the little room (wine cellar) we ate in, was super cute. An old friend of a friend hooked Bill up with these tickets...they weren't super close..but I didn't care...there Jack was, cute as ever...amazing music...a chill crowd (my favorite)...and a very happy vibe. I missed Bill soo much that night. Couples everywhere hugging, dancing in the aisles enjoying his music. We sat in our seats...I was dying to dance, but everyone around us..was sitting! As one of my favorite Jack Johnson songs sing...."It's always better when were together"- I missed my dance partner/hugger, that's for sure!
My friend Maria, Kaitlyn and Kali. Kaitlyn took Kali to see Taylor Swift a few months back...and we were happy to extend an invite to them, hoping they'd enjoy him as much as we do...
After sitting in almost 2 hours of traffic, this place was very strict with reservations...15 min. late, and they'd cancel you with a smile on their face...but we made it....here we are in our fine little restaurant....yum yum. First time we've ever tried "Fried Squash flowers"- Delish! It's the flower of the squash plant...filled with cheeses, lightly battered...AMAZING! It was one of those places where you can barely read the menu. It was in Italian...and very few things to choose from, but from what we had, and seen, it was worth every bit.

The Seven....
Kali made some very good friends over the summer. Some came into her life during Soccer Camp, while others were in her life through 7th and 8th grade. They so happen to love and care for eachother, get along very well, and there's 7 of them. Kali, Pheobe, Mackenzie, Breezie, Kelli, Jenna and Maddie...Through the summer, they enjoyed the beach...parties, and all the events that take place for Freshman year. Well, they have this "Diary"- They share hopes and dreams...secrets..and gushy stuff. Each girl takes the book, adds to it...and so on. When they get together they add silly stuff.... HOWEVER, it's top secret. Kali made me promise...to never peek inside. But I love the idea. If only they could make a copy for eachother...as they become mom's or grown adults...someday...to look back on it...and read. Memories of "The 7" They have rings now that say "seven". Hope this lasts...and they respect eachother...love eachother and protect eachother- Kali's first "All nighter"- If you know Kali, you know her sleep is very precious. She likes her routines, she likes her fan...she likes a nice cool room and to be left alone. That's why sleepovers have never appealed to her. She doesn't like to be bothered, and when it's time for bed...well..she wants to sleep. This summer she had her first sleepover..and it WAS an allnighter. They did crazy stuff to stay awake...and these are just some of the pictures... the others and very very silly...
